Matthew has over 10 years of experience representing insurers, government agencies and corporations, with a focus on personal injury and compulsory third party claims

Matthew’s insurance expertise spans across a broad range of insurance matters including personal injury, compulsory third party, property damage, product liability, marine and business interruption claims.

Matthew specialises in major and catastrophic personal injury matters and holds a particular interest in brain injuries, spinal injuries and complex psychiatric conditions. His approach is characterised by his exceptional communication skills, ability to undertake detailed forensic enquiry and his keen understanding of his clients’ commercial imperatives.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Matthew practised as a chiropractor and was a proprietor of four multi-disciplinary clinics. Drawing on his extensive experience in treating patients, many of them personal injury claimants, Matthew applies the ‘Different Perspective’ gained through his clinical expertise in order to advise his clients on injury causation and quantification issues.

Matthew is also an accomplished speaker and trainer and frequently presents to his clients and colleagues.
