Our Gallery

While we may not have a water view, our clients certainly have visual stimulation to inspire them when they visit our office – our walls reflect the fact that we have both an ‘Artist-in-Residence’ Program and a culture that values creativity and art.

Commencing in 2007, our Artist-in-Residence Program has seen Curwoods Lawyers work closely with nine artists that have completed residencies – Dmitry Kuznichenko, Joel Dickens, Kyra Henley, Melanie Waugh, Phoebe Boyle, Samuel Quinteros, Becky Gibson, Madeleine Love and Joanna Gambotto.

Their 12-month stints have all been different, however, they have all brought a sense of inspiration to the firm that’s touched each and every one of us.

Our current Artist-in-Residence: Joanna Gambotto

Our 2016/2017 artist, Joanna Gambotto, completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the National Art School in Darlinghurst in 2013 and is currently based in Sydney. She is the winner of 2016 Northbridge Art Prize and 2013 Hornsby Art Prize. She is also the recipient of the Saatchi and Saatchi Art Award 2014.

Joanna’s paintings aim to evoke a subjective account of a place rather than to render an accurate copy of one. In her work, distortion and exaggeration become means of re-enacting the personal impression and enable the work to break away from the formal constraints of representational painting.

Joanna has participated in numerous group exhibitions and has held several solo shows in Australia and abroad. Her previous work can be found in private and public collections worldwide.
